Frank John Sajovic, Sr., age 79, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Born on February 17, 1947, in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Frank was the son of the late Frank Sajovic and the late Albina Fink Sajovic. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from August 10, 1965, until August 5, 1969, in which he served two years, eleven months, and three days overseas in Vietnam. Frank later enjoyed a long career with Rhodia Chemical Company where he worked until his retirement in 1995.
In his younger years, Frank was an accomplished hockey player and later shared his passion for the sport through coaching. Known affectionately as “Papa Frank,” he was a devoted grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Pixie and Zeus, who brought him much joy and companionship.
He is survived by his sons, Andy Sajovic, John (Shannon) Sajovic, Jr., grandchildren, Brittany Feageans, Courtney (Zach) Scott, Bethany Sajovic, Kristie (James) Martin, Austin (Autumn) Sajovic, Jubliee (Braxton) Pigg, Jayda (Derrick) Sajovic, Wesley Sajovic, Hannah Carter, eight great grandchildren, brother in law, Howard Mangrum, sister in law, Mary Fay Mangrum, and cousin, Pat Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica Ann Sajovic, son, Christopher Joel Sajovic, and step son, Dwayne Carter.
Honorary pallbearers will include Wesley Sajovic, Austin Sajovic, Braxton Pigg, James Martin, Blaze Davidson, and Thomas Martin.
