A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home with John Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Bridges Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until the service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Frances was born on July 4, 1931, in Maury County, Tennessee, and was the daughter of the late Marvin Holt and the late Jessie Holt. She grew up in Cross Bridges and remained there throughout her life. She was married to Kenneth Bingham Voss, who preceded her in death in 2012. Together they enjoyed their camp on the Tennessee River and fishing. She had a servant’s heart and took care of her parents. Frances, never having children of her own, always was caring for a niece or nephew and gained the name “Mama B.” She always attended their ballgames and cherished quality time with them. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, making everyone around blankets. Frances was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, attending for over 60 years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Frances is survived by her nephews, Freddie (Susan) Voss, Kevin (Louise) Holt, Tommy (Mary Anne) Locke, Dwight Holt, Mike Nichols, and Norris Johnson; nieces, Delanie (Darrel) Haywood, Paula (James) Cox, Anita (Huey) Smith, Edith (Mike) Baybeck, Debbie (Mark) Derryberry, and Tabby (Phillip) LaFrance; sister-in-law, Joan Holt; great-nieces, Shelby (Robby) McNeece, Breanna (Adam) Carden, and Kaitelyn (Cody) Clark; great-nephews, Brandon (Danielle) Voss, Preston Haywood, and her “favorite” Kelsey (Heather) Voss; and many other great-nieces and great-nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marvin “Junior” Holt, Norman Holt, Sheila Holt, and Mildred Locke.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at NHC Columbia, Dr. Ball, and John and Charlene Osborne for all their care and concern during this time.
