Forrest Frank Romedy

Forrest Frank Romedy, age 69, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Forrest is now free from the pain and struggles of this earthly life. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2026 in the Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Bro. William Bouchillon officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Massey Funeral Home from 12 p.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Forrest was born July 26, 1957, to Frank Forest and Sarah Vowell Romedy. He lived a life full of joy, happiness, hard work, and love. He had a contagious laugh that could brighten any room and a way of bringing happiness to those around him. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Through years of hard work, dedication, and determination, Forrest built a life and career in construction. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to share his knowledge and skills with others. But the lessons he passed on went far beyond construction. Through his words, actions, and example, he shared wisdom and life advice that made an impact on the people around him. His influence will continue through the many lives he touched and the lessons he left behind.

Above all, Forrest was a devoted husband, caring father, and loving grandfather. He spent his life loving his wife, Wanda Romedy, and their life together was one of the greatest treasures of his heart. His love for his family was steadfast, and he cherished the time he spent with them.

Forrest leaves behind to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Wanda Romedy; his children, Matthew Sims (Melanie) and Kayla Romedy Stone (Stephen); his grandchildren, Presley Sims and Scarlett Stone; his sisters, Clytee Romedy and Bonita Furr; along with numerous extended family members, friends, coworkers, and loved ones who were blessed to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Forrest Romedy and Sarah Romedy; his siblings, Ada Faye Creech, Mary Lane Miller, Quavis Romedy, Barry Romedy, Lucille Tullos, and Lowery Romedy.
Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we find comfort in knowing that Forrest’s long battle with cancer has ended and that he is no longer suffering from the pains of this earthly life. His laughter, his wisdom, his love, and the memories he created will remain with his family and friends forever.

Serving as pallbearers are Vic Romedy, Son Vowell, Tim Vowell, Giff Brock, Donnie Boswell, John Zachary, Stephen Stone, and Robin Wade.

Memorials in honor of Forrest may be given to Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund, 445 Giffin Rd., Louisville, MS 39339.

Forrest leaves behind a legacy built not only through his work, but through the people he loved, the knowledge he shared, and the lives he touched.

He will be deeply loved, dearly missed, and forever remembered.
