Evan A Gooch

Evan A Gooch, age 78, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 5:00 PM with Brandon Cochran officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on September 14, 2026, from 4:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born on March 10, 1948, in Shoshone, Idaho, Evan was the son of the late Harold T. Gooch and the late Eleanor Evans Gooch. While living in Idaho, he worked as a farmer and owned an auto shop. He later dedicated thirty-four years of his career to Saturn before retiring in 2000. On December 21, 1986, Evan married Nancy Gooch, who preceded him in death on April 15, 2022.

Evan had a special passion for restoring antique tractors, a hobby that brought him great joy throughout his life. He was also a devoted and active grandfather who cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Some of his favorite memories were made on road trips to antique tractor shows, where he enjoyed sharing his love of tractors with the grandchildren he adored.

He is survived by his son, Christopher (Heather) Gooch, daughter, Jessica (Matt) Perry, brother, Ellis (Bev) Gooch, beloved grandchildren, Zachary, Breanna, Elizabeth, and Kevin Gooch, several additional grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Claude and Clyde Gooch.
