Emmanuel Nathanial James

Mr. Emmanuel “EJ” Nathanial James, Sr., age 36, a resident of Lawrenceburg, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Countryside Health and Rehabilitation, in the arms of his loving wife.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 5PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 4-5 at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born January 14, 1989 in Camden, Ohio to Willie James and the late Juanita Jackson James. EJ was an amazing husband and father. One of his favorite activities was to go on walks in the woods with his children. He was a devoted husband and father and will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his father he is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Jennifer “Jenna” James, sons, Emmanuel “EJ” James Jr., Zedekiah James, daughter, Avyauna James, stepdaughter, Kylie Kelley, brothers, Christopher “CJ” Jackson, William James, sister, Clarissa James, sister in law, Tiffany Dyer, nephews, Javion, Konner, Matthew, J.J., nieces, Nakyla, Joanna, Makaysha, grandmother, Annie Ruth James, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his cousin, Corie Williams and his father in law Edker “Herky” Dyer.
