Emily Rebecca Celesse Bastnagel, age 75, a native Memphian and resident of Dickson, passed away in her home Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 2 - 4 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 4 PM. Her internment will be a private ceremony.
Born July 20, 1950 in Memphis, Emily was the daughter of the late Charles Erwin Bastnagel and the late Emily Rebecca Perry Bastnagel.
Emily’s greatest joy in life was being a mother to her daughter, Lori, who was truly her pride and joy, and grandmother to her three grandsons, Kaleb, Jackson, and Jacob. She was their fiercest supporter and biggest fan. Known as “Maw,” she devoted herself to them wholeheartedly. Emily also had a selfless spirit, she loved Jesus, had an affection for bunnies and baking. Above all, Emily will be remembered as a deeply caring woman who loved with her whole heart. Her presence touched many lives and she will be profoundly missed.
Emily is survived by her daughter, Lori (Matthew) Stone; brother, Rocky (Nancy) Bastnagel; grandsons, Kaleb (Cassie) Stone, Jackson Stone, Jacob (Alyssa) Stone; brother in law, Billy Belt; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by her siblings, Johnny Bastnagel, Charles Bastnagel, Georgia Anne Bastnagel Bomar, Lucy Bastnagel Moore, and Peggy Bastnagel Belt.
