Douglas Harold Thomason, Jr., age 59, husband of Mary Ann Sweeney Thomason, and a resident of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at his residence.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Thomason Family Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 6, 1967, in Nashville, Tennessee, Doug was the son of the late Douglas Harold Thomason, Sr. and the late Philis Ann Davis Thomason. On August 17, 1987, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Sweeney. Doug worked for fifteen years as an insulator with Vest Insulation.

Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on things. He had a fascination with guns and never passed up the chance to watch an episode of Gunsmoke or The Dukes of Hazzard. He loved classic country music and the artists who made it great. Above all, Doug cherished his family, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Justin Thomason, Josey Thomason, daughter, Ashley “Nikki” (Corey) Davis, sisters, Debbie (Gary) Gray, Kathy Porch, Dawn (James) Williams, Missy Fugate, brother, Jeff Boshers, grandchildren, Karin Elizabeth Davis, Kayley Autumn Davis, Gracie Danielle Davis, father in law, Alvin Sweeney, sister in law, Sherry (Wendell) Allman, and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Gray, grandmother, Dena Foster, mother in law, Joan Sweeney, brother in law, Steve Davis, and nephew, Corey Davis.

Doug lived life in his own unique way—full of grit, humor, and heart. As he always said, “Love me, hate me, you’ll never forget me.”
