Douglas Wayne Rogers, Sr., age 76, husband of Norma Kay Love Rogers, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at his residence.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM at Maury Memorial Gardens, with Ronnie Thomas officiating.

Born on February 2, 1950, in Columbia, Doug was the son of the late Elmer Henry Rogers, Sr. and the late Grace Landreth Rogers. A 1968 graduate of Columbia Central High School, Doug married the love of his life, Norma Kay Love, on September 17, 1975. Together they shared fifty wonderful years.

Doug spent many years working as a carpenter before serving as a building inspector for the City of Spring Hill, retiring in 2015. He cherished the simple joys of life, especially the time he shared with Norma, taking long rides together, enjoying morning walks, studying their Bibles, and traveling throughout the years. He also had a love for woodworking and treasured time spent with his grandchildren. Doug was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Douglas Wayne (Maggie) Rogers, Jr. of Memphis, TN, daughter, Tammy (Tim) Hardison of Columbia, TN, sister, Linda Bassham of Lavina, TN, grandchildren, Christopher (Shana) Hardison of Columbia, TN, Stephen (Kalli) Hardison of Columbia, TN, Andrew (Veronica Nguyen) Hardison of Columbia, TN, Jacob Rogers of Memphis, TN, Samuel Rogers of Memphis, TN, great grandchildren, Lyrah Hardison, Walker Jane Hardison, Banks Hardison, brothers and sisters in law, Janice (Ronnie) Thomas, Tim (Jane) Love, and Bob Thompson, and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie Rogers and Elmer “Buddy” Rogers, Jr.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Hardison, Stephen Hardison, Andrew Hardison, Jacob Rogers, Tim Hardison, and Tim Love. Honorary pallbearers will include Wendell Potts and Wayne Pruitt.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Gentiva Hospice for their incredible care and compassion during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Gideons International at PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
