A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Greg Gwin officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on August 19, 1963, in Santa Monica, California on a clear, beautiful day it was 77.0 degrees. Donna was the daughter of the late Marvin Herald and the late Jennie Ruth Miller Herald. She was a member of Collegeview Church of Christ. She was faithful to God and was always giving out scripture to read. She would have Bible studies with her family and spread God’s word like she was seasoning her chicken, and to those of you who knew Donna you know she could season chicken. Donna was one of the best people to be around. She was always happy, and she loved her family. Family meant everything to her. She was the quirky, fun, loving aunt that always had a joke to share or a smile to give, and she was the biggest animal lover we knew. Her beloved dog Junior was her fur baby. He was like her child. She would bake him doggie biscuits and take him everywhere she went. She would do anything to help anyone even if it meant giving what she didn’t have. She loved to go to Goodwill and every other thrift store around. She was such a good person! She loved to teach and was such a great aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. She wrote a song called Junk Food Junkie to teach us to eat healthier. She was always so involved and dedicated to the things she loved. She would make us cookies and take us swimming. She would always cook our favorite food, tacos. She taught me many recipes. She loved to go tanning! She loved purses and belts. She always dressed for success. She always painted my nails and cut her nieces and nephews hair. She was there for me in so many ways. She supported my dreams and goals. She was the best aunt that anyone could wish for. She was like a second mother to me. She always welcomed me into her home even when I was just stopping by. She had the biggest heart. She was a good listener. She loved Chinese food and cold coffee. She was my person. She will forever be in our hearts.
She is survived by her brother, Steven L. Herald of Lewisburg, sister, Jennie Ann (Harold) Lee of Columbia, nieces and nephews, Jessie Prater, Patricia (Trevor Merrow) Herald, Jennivy (Cody) Spencer, great nieces and nephews, Lilana, Thomas, and Stormie Prater, Gabriel Herald, Xaivyn Whaley, Chevelle Merrow, Christian Herald, Isabella Merrow, Daven, Addalyn, Winston, and Ezrin Spencer, and best friend, Kimberly Maitland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene Herald and David Miller and her sister n law Nancy Herald.
