It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah "Debbie" Bradley Colvert, a loving wife, dedicated mother, and cherished grandmother. She was born on April 18, 1952, in Columbia, TN, and departed from this world peacefully on June 17, 2025, in Mt. Pleasant with her family by her side.
Debbie's career as a Registered Nurse at Maury Regional Hospital in the Coronary Care Unit and preadmission testing was marked by a deep passion for caring for others. She dedicated herself to her profession until her retirement in 2015, having also served in the compassionate environment of Family Medicine Associates with Dr. Ball from the early 1980s to the mid-1990s. Debbie embraced her role wholeheartedly, consistently striving to make a difference in the lives of those she encountered.
An alumna of East High in Memphis, TN, Debbie graduated in 1970 and continued her education at Columbia State Community College, where she pursued her degree in nursing. Her educational journey laid the foundation for a career that exemplified a servant's heart and a beautiful soul.
Those who knew Debbie will fondly remember her warmth and hospitality. She could always be found in the kitchen, sipping on a cup of coffee or whipping up a delicious meal for her family. Her culinary creations, notably her amazing cinnamon rolls and yeast rolls for the holidays, became cherished traditions.
Debbie held a strong faith and attended Destiny Church, where she found solace and connection with her community. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has returned to her Lord and rejoices that she is now in heaven, surrounded by peace and love.
Debbie leaves behind her loving husband of 53 years, Tom Colvert; son, Will (Elizabeth) Colvert of Lynchburg; daughters, Anna (Jimmy) Woodard of Hampshire and Lee (Doug) Woodard; and beautiful grandchildren, Kiana, Aaron, Clara, Jamie, and Thomas. She is also survived by her brother, Danny Bradley, and sister, Anne McCormick. Debbie will be profoundly missed by her family who adored her, as well as by countless friends who were touched by her kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Jennings Bradley and Nadine Buckner Bradley and her brother Timothy Bradley.
In her memory, family and friends are invited to gather at Heritage Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, located at 609 Bear Creek Pike in Columbia, TN, to celebrate her life. There will be a visitation on June 20, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a heartfelt Celebration of Life from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Caris Hospice for their compassionate care, with special gratitude to Casey Cummins, who never left Debbie’s side and longtime neighbors of Hay Long Ave the Flippo’s and the Hutcheson’s for being so good to our family. Deep appreciation also goes to Angela Hie, Shaely Ratliff, Dr. Ball, and her sitter, Britney McMeen. Each of them went above and beyond in their care, providing exceptional support and comfort to Debbie over the past 14 months.
As we remember Debbie, let us celebrate the remarkable impact she made on all our lives. We will hold her spirit close, cherishing the love and comfort she provided. May her legacy of compassion continue to inspire us all.
