David Martin Morrison, age 58, husband of Christin Morrison, and a resident of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 6, 2026.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Ward Jones officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born on March 27, 1968, in Cairo, Georgia, David was the son of the late Joseph Danny Morrison and Maryann Byrd White. He was a 1986 graduate of Cairo High School, where he played football. David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful career in heavy equipment sales before retiring in December 2025. On October 8, 2005, he married the love of his life, Christin.
David had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his time golfing, mowing the yard, and boating. He also found great fulfillment coaching the Columbia Central High School girls' flag football team. He was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and also enjoyed watching NASCAR. He loved cooking, and above all else, David cherished the time he spent with his family. His love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he cared about will be remembered always, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Lisa Griggs, Desiree (Dustin) Fewell, Kirstin Morrison, grandchildren, Colt Gause, Danny Griggs, Jacob Griggs, Jett Fewell, Wylder Fewell, siblings, Darren Morrison, JD (Charlotte) Goins, former wife, Julie Colleli, and a host of extended family members and friends.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mamie Morrison.
