Dale Baker

Jerry Dale Baker, age 38, a resident of Shelbyville, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Northview Church of Christ.

Dale was born on March 26, 1988, in Columbia, Tennessee, and was the son of Jeffrey Nichols Baker and Jennie Charlene Franklin Hosick. He worked as a mechanic and had a natural talent for fixing anything with wheels. Dale enjoyed fishing and was known for his kind and giving heart. He was the type of person who would gladly give the shirt off his back to someone in need. Most of all, Dale treasured his family and friends and the time he shared with them. His kind heart, generous spirit, and friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dale is survived by his son, Matthew Layne Baker; daughter, Ahlaeah McKeeley Carlton; brother, Jeffrey Todd (Jessica) Baker; sister, Jennifer (Mike) Anger; uncle, Tommy Gilbert Baker; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Frances Butts Baker, affectionately known as “Nanny.”
