Mr. Clarence William “Bill” Taylor, age 72, husband of Marie Taylor, and a resident of Crossville, previously of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Williamson Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 1-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 29, 1947 in Richmond, Indiana, Bill was the son of the late Clarence Sherman Taylor and the late Betty Louise Gephart Taylor. He married Marie Hall on April 28, 1967 and together they had two daughters. He previously worked as a machinist and attended Parkway Baptist Church.
Bill loved country and gospel music. One of his biggest hobbies was getting together with friends and picking his guitar. He often played the guitar and sang at church and other different functions. A great sense of humor, Bill loved making others laugh whether it was cracking jokes or pulling pranks. He also enjoyed woodworking. Above all, he loved his family, especially his granddaughters who were his life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Lori (David) Evans of Columbia, Tina (Brian) Cox of Murfreesboro; his Swiss daughter, Katharina Schenk of Switzerland; granddaughters: Salina Evans, Michaila Evans, Raven Evans, Aubrey Cox; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary McKinley.
