Charles Willie Wells

Charles Willie Wells, age 76, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 2, 1947, in Columbia, Tennessee, Charles was the son of the late Jimmy Wells and the late Myrtle Williams Wells. He was a graduate of Carver Smith High School. He worked as a caregiver for Maury Regional Medical Center, and most recently for Independent Opportunities Inc. in Columbia. Charles’ greatest hobby was playing cards.

He is survived by his children, Trabec Wells, Alicia Wells, and Henry (Christa) Toney, siblings, Caldwell (Phyllis) Wells, Isom (Thelma) Wells, Jennie Mitchell, half-sister, Charlene Amos, grandchildren, Cardascia Wells, Tywon Toney, Donovan Toney, and Jasmine Toney, the mother of his son, Marjorie Toney, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, JW Wells, Ralph Wells, and Walter “Bebbie” Wells.
