Charles W. Jones

Charles W. Jones, age 86, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at NHC Columbia.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born on July 28, 1939, in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, Charles was the son of the late Tom Jones and the late Irene Davis Jones. He worked as a serviceman at Louisville Gas and Electric until he retired. Outside of work, Charles enjoyed cooking, listening to old-school blues, and watching westerns and James Bond movies. He also found joy in spending time socializing with family. He was a very wise man and mentor to his children.

He is survived by his sons, Roderick Jones of Columbia, Charles A. Jones, Marcus Jones, daughters, Dr. Crystal Banks, Christy Jones, brother, Hayward Jones, and a host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Laura McKnight, Mary Ann Davis, Geneva Jones-Tanner, and brothers, James Jones, J.C. Jones, and Arthur Jones.
