Carol Jean Atkisson

Mrs. Carol Jean Atkisson, age 79, resident of Columbia, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 3:00pm at The Tabernacle in Lewisburg with Reverend Tim Atkisson.

Carol was born in Alabama on March 26, 1947, to the late A.C. Brock and Elizabeth Roberts Brock. She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended The Tabernacle in Lewisburg. She enjoyed arts and crafts, coloring, tending to her flowers, and watching Gunsmoke.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Anthony “Andy” Dale Atkisson; daughters, Valorie (James) West and Kim (David) Fisher; grandchildren, Alicia Burgess, Josh (Maggie) Wheeler, Shelby (Dave) Carter, Ethan Fisher, and Cayden Fisher; and great grandchildren, Maranda (Patrick) Gordon, Micaela Wainwright, Jackson Wainwright, Carter Wainwright, McKenzie Wainwright, Lillian Carter, and Charleigh Wheeler.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley Burgess Wainwright.
