Branford "Rip" Collins, 85, of Hohenwald, Tennessee, passed away at his home on August 1, 2026, after a short illness. He was surrounded by love and the comfort of family.

Born with a generous heart and quick wit, Rip spent his life serving others through his work. He was married to Betty Collins for 39 years, a partnership marked by devotion, laughter, and steady strength. He had two children, Lynita and Greg Collins, whom he loved deeply and proudly.

Rip was a self-employed HVAC technician, known for his skill, reliability, and the way he treated every customer like a neighbor. He also shared his knowledge as an instructor at Centerville Technology School, where he guided and encouraged many students entering the trades.

Those who knew Rip remember his kind, giving spirit-he never hesitated to help someone in need. He was also known for his sense of humor, the kind that could lighten a room and make hard days easier.

One of the greatest joys of Rip's life was his grandson, Kendal Clay. Rip loved Kendal deeply, and their relationship was something truly special. Rip found immense pride and happiness in being Kendal's grandfather. Their connection was one of Rip's most treasured blessings, a source of joy that brightened his days.

His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the students he taught, and the countless people whose lives were made better by his generosity and good-natured laughter.

His funeral will be Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Grinders Creek Church of Christ in Hohenwald, Tennessee. Visitation will be 10am-12pm with the service at 12pm. Conducting the service will be Steve Holloway and Ricky Clay.
