Billy Dewayne Hood

Mr. Billy Dewayne Hood, age 47, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 in Columbia.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 3PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Jeff Haynes officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 12-3PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Baker Cemetery in Hickman County at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on November 25, 1971 in Williamson County, Billy was the son of Billy & Carolyn Baker Hood. He was a 1990 graduate of Franklin High School and worked as a carpenter, remodeling homes. Billy enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, playing horseshoes and grilling.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Cody Dewayne Hood of Lewisburg; sister, Melissa Hood (Jimmy) Harris of College Grove; grandchildren: Kylie Pullen, Brantley Hood, Cherokee Hood, Jeremiah Hood and Tristan Bracey; niece, Lindsey (Paul Stewart) Harris; great niece, Addyson Stewart; and spouse, Rita Beard Hood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) at 6001 Executive Boulevard, Room 5102, Bethesda, MD 20892.
