Betty A. Sell, age 85, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, formerly of California, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center, with her family by her side.
Born on January 31, 1940, in Provo, Utah, Betty was the daughter of the late Jane Oden. She had a kind and generous heart, always helping those in need, and she never met a stranger. Betty found joy in the simple pleasures of life- gardening, swimming, and working crossword puzzles. A frequent thrift store treasure hunter and a devoted seashell collector, she had an eye for the unique and sentimental. She enjoyed her caramel frappes and shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Charley. Above all, Betty deeply cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride into her life.
She is survived by her sons, Randy (Rhonda) Sell, Jeff (Donna) Sell, daughters, Melanie (Shanon) Shamblin, Tammy (Keith) Cates, brother, Andy Clyde, sister, Patricia Smith, twelve grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeannie Sell, twin sister, Joanne Merrick, her soulmate of thirty years, John Osborne, brother, Larry Clyde, and sister, Sandy Clyde.
The family will celebrate her life with private services. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
