Barbara Jean Kirby

Barbara Jean Kirby, age 77, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bud Porter officiating. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at a later date in the Memory Forest at Maury Memorial Gardens.

Born on November 19, 1948, in Pontiac, Michigan, Barbara was the daughter of the late Jane Louise Sage Day and the late Edward Day. She devoted thirty years of her career to General Motors before retiring and remained active as a member of the UAW Local 1853 Retirees. Very involved in her community, Barbara was a member of the FCE Club and the Red Hat Society and volunteered her time at Maury Regional Medical Center, along with many other organizations. In her spare time, she found joy in reading.

She is survived by her children, Dirk Harris, Jason Harris, Tanya (Michael) Jordan, grandchildren, Zachary (Christabell) Balentine, Hunter Jordan, Jamie Leicht and her husband, great grandchild, Christopher Michael Balentine, and two additional great grandchildren.
