August William Machleit

Mr. August William Machleit, age 77, a resident of Adairville, Kentucky, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 5-7PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 22, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan, August was the son of the late August Machleit and the late Anna Jacobs Machleit. August had a strong faith in the Lord. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, going to the drag strip, his dog, Sassy, and spending time with his family and friends. Known for his outgoing and friendly personality he had a successful career as a salesman. He embodied a true servants’ heart. A loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children: August Machleit, and Katherine (William) Seay, brother, Douglas (Gloria) Machleit, sister, Veronica Beer, grandchildren, Devin Machleit, Kaitlyn Machleit, Joseph (Ashley) Machleit, Megan Laney, Elizabeth (Michael) Iverson, Jesse Wasserburger, Sean Wasserburger, and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Felicia Machleit and sister Beverly Machleit.
