Angelina Carlton

Angelina Marie Carlton, age 48, a resident of Bryson City, North Carolina, and a former resident of Summertown, Tennessee for eight years, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026.

Born on November 26, 1977, in Dallas, Texas, Angelina was the daughter of the late Joseph Lewis Kozma Sr. (FL) and the late Theresa Ann Lowe (Summertown, TN), both of whom preceded her in death. She spent many years in Bryson City, where she and her husband raised their son surrounded by family and the mountains she loved, before later making her home in Summertown, Tennessee.

Angelina is survived by her husband, Ryan Stuart Carlton, and her son, Ryan Lane Carlton, both of Bryson City, NC.

She is also survived by her sibling, Joseph Lewis Kozma Jr. (Denver, CO) (Rhonda Standing Bear‑Kozma), and by her nephews and niece: Eugene S. Kozma, Elizabeth M. Standing Bear, Paul Z. Kozma, and James A. Kozma.

Angelina carried the warmth of her Texas beginnings, the spirit of Bryson City’s mountains, and the quiet years she made her own in Summertown. It was there that she found space to reconnect with memories long tucked away, weaving together pieces of her life with the echoes of her mother’s. Now, their stories rest together once more, carried gently in the hearts of those who loved them. She will be missed dearly by every life she touched.
