Almeda O'Neal Potts

Almeda O’Neal Workman Potts, age 79, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Alan Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Saturday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born on March 4, 1947, in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, Almeda was the daughter of the late Johnny and Martha Mason Workman. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, gardening, and canning. She also liked going to the beach and spending time working in her yard. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed every moment she had with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Detra (Johnny) Clark, Stephanie White, Megan (Dakota) Stewart, grandchildren, Jeremy Lancaster, Josh Burgett, Alyssia Burgett, Jasmine (Carl) Smotherman, Melvin Potts, Almeda “Ally” Potts, Shayla Potts, Kira Hunt, Joseph “Joe” Hunt, and eleven great grandchildren, Taylor Burgett, Wyatt Lancaster, Emily Stewart, Levi Burgett, Addison Burgett, Cameron Smotherman, Ariel Chapdelaine, Desmond Smotherman, Clara Potts, Mallorie White, Mason Potts, Oliver Yarbrough, and Astrid Kennedy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie (Wanda) Workman, and sisters, Martha Ray (Le’Roy) Bozeman, Shirley Martin, Debbie Potts.

Pallbearers will be Barry Marcrom, Joey Hunt, Jessie Lancaster, Colby Stewart, Chris Able, and Austin Able.
