Mr. Donnie Ray Sharp, age 65, a resident of Columbia passed away October 8, 2011 at his residence. The family will celebrate his life on Friday, October 21, 2011 with a gathering from 2:00 PM " 3:30 PM at the Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A memorial service will follow in the Mausoleum Chapel at 3:30 PM. Mr. Sharp will be inurned immediately in the glass niche of the mausoleum interior. During that time, the family will conduct a balloon release. The staff of Heritage Funeral Home & Maury Memorial Gardens is assisting the family. Donnie was born November 12, 1945 in Harlem County, Kentucky. A retired truck driver, he had spent many years driving for Western Express. Survivors include his longtime companion and soul mate: Patricia Leach; his close and adopted family: James and Katelyn Manley, Chuck, Cynthia ,David and Derick Moore, Scott, Cynthia and Orion Leach; two daughters, Cristina Ried Bocox of Des Moines, Iowa, Charlotte Ann Sharp of Elmhurst, Illinois, three grandchildren: Paul Anthony Sharp, Cameron James Sharp, Olivia Bocox. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Charles Ball & Staff, and also Dr. Steven Woodley & Staff. The family requests that memorials be made to The Hope Clinic of Columbia.
