George E. Parson

December 21, 1947 - December 1, 2015

Mr. George Edward Parson, age 67, a resident of Summertown, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Summertown Church of Christ with Ricky Glass officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Mt. Pleasant, George was born on December 21, 1947 and was the son of the late A.B. Parson and the late Margaret Pitts Parson. George served his country in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam.

He is survived by his son: Heath (Lindsey) Parson of Summertown; daughter: Rhonda (Jeff) Long of McEwen; sisters: Betty Isabell of Mt. Pleasant, Gail Marshall of Mt. Pleasant; and four grandchildren.
