With quiet dignity and no complaints, Nickie “Nick” Howard Vandagriff, 68, died as he had
lived. He passed away on February 11, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Nick was preceded in death
by his beloved parents, N.M. and Jessie(Griffin) Vandagriff of Marshall, TX.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Nick had a successful career in the manufacturing industry, serving as VP of Manufacturing at
Stemco in Longview, TX; President of Service Spring Co. In Indianapolis, IN; President of Friction Products in Longview, TX and President of Holley Performance Products in Bowling Green, KY. Nick was formerly a principal in SteepRock Industries, and also worked in management at Horizon Industries in Tyler, TX.
Nick was a dedicated Christian and served in leadership capacities as he was needed in
various churches. He also served for many years with United Way in Tennessee and Kentucky.
Nick is survived by his wife, Debbie (Moody) Vandagriff of Williamsport, TN; daughter and
son-in-law, Ashley and Jason King of Williamsport, TN; daughter and son-in-law Terri and Rick
Cassels of Whitehouse, TX; daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Gary Schragin of Grapevine,
Tx.; 10 grandchildren-Preston King, Rachel King, McKenna Cassels, Mattie Cassels, Mali Cassels,
Rhet Cassels, Charlie Schragin, Lily Schragin, Grace Schragin and Sydney Merz; his sister Debbie
Manuel of Marshall, TX; sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Jimmy Hooper of Marshall Texas;
uncle Bob Griffin of Blue Ridge, TX.; numerous nieces and nephews and his four-legged best
friend, Bayley.
