Dennis Junior Smith, age 60, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his home.

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ, 4225 Old Benton Road, Paducah, Kentucky 42003 with Pastor Patricia Sallee officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the funeral hour at 7:00PM at the church. Burial will be in Little Union Cemetery in Summersville, WV on a later date.

A native of Webster Springs, WV, Dennis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Paducah and was a former laborer for the coalmines.

He is survived by his life-long companion; Darlene Smith Weitbrecht of Paducah; 2 daughters: Regina Marshall (Dave) of Paducah and Rachelle Cozort (Josh) of Ballard, WV; 4 sons: Dennis Smith of Paducah, Matthew Dewell of Paducah, DuWayne Jackson (Shannon) and Keith Jackson (Erin) both of Spanish Fort, AL; 3 sisters: Shelby Wickline of WV, Ardenna Smith of CA and Lena Mae Wright of WV; 2 brothers: Charles Smith of TX and Denver Smith of OH; 3 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Dennis Jefferson Smith and Phyllis June Shaver Smith; 2 sons: Michael George Smith and Christopher William Smith;3 sisters and 2 brothers.
