Gary Eldon Tice

January 26, 1941 - January 21, 2011

Mr. Gary Eldon Tice, age 69, and a resident of Bear Creek Pike in Columbia passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 24, 2011 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Andrew Roberts officiating. Interment to follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Harvey Nicholson, Lee Nicholson, Jimmy Duvall, Clifton Kelley, Charles Stofel, Lester Crane, Billy Tanner, Henry Warf, Ray Cherry and Richard Derryberry. Honorary pallbearers: Thelton Hill, Bradley Dugger, Dr. Rufus Clifford, Charlie Norman, Dr. Houston Jameson, Dr. Shawn Reed, Dr. Steven Woodley.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00PM on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home.

A native of Lawrence County, Tennessee, Mr. Tice was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was the owner and operator of Gary’s Body Shop and a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Mr. Tice loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting and fishing. He was a reserved man but had a deep love for his family and grandchildrenas well as for his friends.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Joann Tice; son, Greg (Leann) Tice; granddaughter, Kaiti Tice and grandson, Jarett Tice, all of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his father Sherman Odell Tice and mother, Vera Tongett Foster.
