Lawrence Allen Jessop

Mr. Lawrence Allen "Larry" Jessop, age 78, husband of Sharon Griggs Jessop, and a resident of Franklin passed away at his home on Friday, May 11, 2012.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11 AM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Lunn and Rev. Jimmy Peyton officiating. Special music will be performed by Jeff Quirk and Jean Marie Hull. Interment will be at 1 PM at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens with full military rites provided by the U.S. Navy. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 4-8 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of the arrangements.

Larry was born in Ogden, UT to the late George Allen Jessop and the late Mayme Lawrence Jessop. He started his military career with the UT National Guard from 1949-1951. He then joined the Navy SeaBees from 1951-1955 and ended his military career with the Air Force Reserves from 1957-1960. After his military career, he was self-employed as an Instrumentation Engineer. He was married for 34 and a half years to Sharon and was affiliated with the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Columbia. After retirement, Larry enjoyed the time he spent working on his farm.

He is survived by Sharon Jessop of Franklin, TN, Jeff (Jill) Lanning, Brett Lanning, Ashley (Chad) Caldwell and Hadley Caldwell all of Murfreesboro, Lisa (John) Rippy, Lauren and Anna Rippy all of Franklin, Dan (Sally) Jessop of NM, Jacob Jessop, Gabriel "Gabe" (Amber) Jessop, Morgan, Adriel and Violet Jessop all of Ogden, UT.

Pallbearers will be Brett Lanning, Chad Caldwell, Gabriel Jessop, Michael Layne, Jeff Lanning, and John Rippy.
