Mr. Donnie McCandless, age 56, and a resident of Columbia passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 3rd at 6pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Garrett officiating. The family will visit with friends from 5pm until the service hour at 6. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Donnie was born in Franklin, TN and the son of the late Ernest L. McCandless and Mary Frances McCandless. He was a mechanic that enjoyed working on motors. He was also very fond of fishing. Donnie was a family man that loved his grandchildren. In addition to loving his grandchildren, he adored his 2 dogs, Little Girl and May-May. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Along with his mother, Donnie left behind to cherish his memory 2 sons: James (Ashton) McCandless and Timothy Ray McCandless both of Columbia, TN; brother: Ronnie Loyd McCandless of Nashville, TN; sister: Shelly Marie Phillips of Nashville, TN; and 2 grandchildren, Cleo Christine and Blake Anderson McCandless.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest L. McCandless.
