William Glyn Taylor

U.S. Veteran

Mr. William Glyn Taylor, age 68, passed away at the Columbia home of his daughter on April 11, 2012.

Mr. Taylor will be laid to rest with military honors on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Nashville National Cemetery in Madison, TN. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge and assisting the family with arrangements.

Glyn was born on December 30, 1943 in Nashville, TN and was one of nine children of Paul Taylor and Naomi Blackwell. He served our country in the United States Army, being stationed in Germany and Korea. After his military service, Glyn became a framer in the construction industry, spending 17 years as the Supervisor for Marion-Thurman Builders. For a period of time, he was a co-owner of MT Contractors, and worked with his brother, Roy, for over 10 years in his siding company.

Following his working years, Glyn began to move toward returning to a simpler life. He obtained a cabin near Charlotte, TN where he began enjoy the beauty of the flowers and gardens he planted, along with the pond on the property.

Glyn's life will be remembered as one of a hard working man. No matter what he did, he worked to improve his life, the lives of his family, and those around him.

Honoring his memory, he is survived by his son: Kerry(Debra) Taylor of Goodlettsville, TN; two daughters: Karissa Taylor of Columbia, TN and Letitia Taylor of Nashville, TN; 4 brothers: Roy Taylor of Smithville, TN, Don Taylor of Lake Elsinore, CA, Jim Taylor of Lawton, OK, and Johnny Taylor of Dallas, TX; 4 sisters: Linda Sue Maupin of Hendersonville, TN, Sheila Clark of Dallas, TX, Nancy Stinson of White House, TN and Shirley Burleson of Mt. Juliet, TN; and 7 grandchildren: Mackenzie, Jonathan, Mario, Nathan, Kendra, Annie, and Miranda.
